Yeah, that's what I thought after I read it. I have the graphic novel adaption of it but I didn't really like the imagery it has of the cities when they walk as a whole....at least it was nothing like what I pictured in my mind.

Oh yeah, I forgot that one....that's another one they're adapting! I haven't read that one yet as it's one of his big books and i'm still working on his short stories after years. ....but other Barker fans I know said the very same thing what you said.

Oh, did you know that there's also going to be a remake of Hellraiser and Candyman? ....it'd be pretty cool to see the Candyman remake done on a British council estate and make it feel more like the original story.

I don't know how much of Barker's work your familiar with, but his latest project Scarlet Gospels could upset a few fans....he's going to kill off Pinhead at the hands of Harry D'Amour.

Wasn't a massive fan of the madonna tbh, I'd watch a film with interest though. Pig Blood Blues was another good one, the final scene of that was horrific.

The thing I'd worry about with Dread would be the lack of content, but then you never know. It's perfectly possible to stretch suspense out with excellent results - But then it's also possible to make incredibly boring movies. Looking forward to it anyway.

But they should REALLY make a film of the Thief of Always. Best kids/teen horror book ever!

I can't afford it myself as i'll be going on the Sunday for the annual gathering of Hellraiser fans to watch Clive Barker's Dread.

Hopefully this year i'll be able to spot Mark Kermode...totally missed him last time.

I'm acctually surprised fright fest is usually a lot better then this The hills run red, dead snow and the horde are the only ones that jump out at me as being worth seeing. I will prob skip it this year and just show those 3 at an upcoming horror movie marathon.

Yeah, I think it's a bit too optimistic myself but they're supposed to be adapting all of the Books of Blood. Ryuhei Kitamura did The Mightnight Meat Train last year, The Book of Blood should be coming on DVD about now, Dread is still being finished....and Pig Blood Blues is next on the hit list.

I've heard rumours that they're doing The Madonna soon, and someone's supposed to be doing an animated version of In the Hills, The Cities.

I'm not sure i'll like Dread though, because it's one of my favourites aswell....I can't see them pulling off the shoe on the grid scene.

I'm going to the Victoria baths open day on sunday....I can't wait, i'd love to do my own version of The Madonna there.

Not sure if this might interest anyone as it's in London, but the Film 4 Fright Fest line-up just got announced today and Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl is going to be screening on the Saturday evening.

I can't afford it myself as i'll be going on the Sunday for the annual gathering of Hellraiser fans to watch Clive Barker's Dread.

Ah yeah, thanks for telling me about that...I was looking around yesterday and saw a few promo interviews for it...seems like the critics are still giving her a hard time over there.

The only track I know called Sentimental Boy is this one by Kilala and Ulala. They're a duo which makes me think it would be a good fit for Double You, so maybe this is the one.

I didn't know about it being a cover version until you told me on Wednesday, whilst I was doing some browsing I just came across that track and I liked it....I did try to find a video of it on YouTube at the time but all that came up was a vid of some girl singing it in front of a webcam....so I didn't think it was very well known. There's two tracks by Yuming here, Cobalt Hour and Chinese Soup. They're both from an album from 1975 called Cobalt Hour which was the LP that broke New Music into the mainstream. The opening theme to Kiki's Delivery Service, Rouge No Dengon is also from the same LP.

The 'Spoons it is then. I'll be going straight from work, so should get there between 1800 and 1830, depending on how early I wrangle my way out of work and how slow the 192 is (mine always seems to get overtaken by lots of other 192s)!

The 216 bus is pretty frequent - about every 10 minutes at that time of day, and takes about 10 minutes to get to Alan Turing Way, and its about a 5 or 10 minute walk from there to the velodrome.
