The votes have been counted and it was really close this year but we do have the winners:
Winning by just 7 votes Hellsing won the short series vote
And by miles Gurren Lagann and School Rumble are our top 2 voted long series (both with over 70 votes each)
I hope everyone is happy with this result, it's going to be very fun watching all these great series with you all and I can't wait ^_^

All I have to say is that Fate's first few episodes are realy bad for giving an impression of the series. I kinda expected this result.
Anyway, the anime's that got in are still pretty good it seems _________________ "People die when they are killed...." - Emiya Shiro.

I was thinking of maybe showing baccano next semester as the vote was nearly 50/50 either that or put it up for vote again vs something else. Will see what you guys want though _________________ <3 Booneh Wabbit (/^-^\)@ |

I certainly wouldn't mind Baccano being kept for backup purposes, like Genshiken was last year. Not that I think anything's gonna go wrong, of course!
*now half-expects the GL DVDs to explode*
And yes, nice turnout. I look forward to the screenings immensely _________________ "Come with me in the twilight of a Summer night for a while.

Line up sounds good to me, would've liked Baccano! because I've seen Hellsing before, although I watched it subbed and the english dub was halarious so I don't think it will be too bad. ^_^

If it helps, I didn't like School Rumble initially when I watched it. It was later episodes that gripped me. I did enjoy watching the first ep last night though *shrug* _________________ "Come with me in the twilight of a Summer night for a while.

Yes, it would've been nice to have seen Baccano, it interested me much more than Hellsing did. However, the vote wasn't that surprising in the end. So long as Gurren Lagann stays funny, I think I'll be happy. _________________ "Oh pitiful shadow tied in darkness, looking down upon people, and hurting them. A soul drowned in sinful karma... I can only assume it was the penalty of death that made these results what they are
But yeah, woo ! All good series to watch at MUJS, Tsubasa & Fate/Stay both obviously lacked anything for a 'group environment' - too much emoing and not enough lulz.
I'd have liked to see Baccano, since vampire stuff is shit, but I'm assured there's cockney vampires which sounds amazing. Likewise I dislike the School Rumble manga intensely, but the anime seems watchable, particulary in a MUJS setting - so roll on. _________________

Thank God I'm not the only one who thinks vampires suck. In both senses.
On the other hand though, Hellsing did seem like a genuinely stylish and interesting anime as opposed to the live-action 'emo vampirism' that's rampant these days (I'm hoping).
I liked Baccano too though, I'm hoping it makes a return .
I'm looking forward to Gurren Lagann, the first episode was great fun (especially Kamina ), as was the first episode of School Rumble (I've not read the manga but I'm a sucker for romantic comedy animes ). Bring on the next screening!! |

Watched all of Baccano this weekend after it was voted out - I'm really glad it didn't get voted in now. The threadbare story jumps all over the place, continually changing from storyline to storyline, containing 5 different timelines from the 1700s to the present day.
A pretty enjoyable series - but one that would be absolute hell to follow in a crowded room, while drunk, seeing 1-2 eps at sporadic 2-3 week intervals.
Really looking forward to seeing School Rumble again, one of the funniest things I've ever seen, let alone funniest anime. Gurren Lagaan looking brilliant as well, and as for hellsing - the dub is always worth it _________________ I saw, I conquered, I came. |

Yay for Gurren Lagann and School Rumble. My only reccomandation is showing Gurren last of the screening as it would be awesome to watch when people are drunk. _________________ Beedrill! Yours is a drill that will pierce the heavens! |

It was an excellent night with a good selection of shows. Whilst I feel a bit sorry for Tsubasa and Fate/Stay Night, which didn't come across so well, I'm looking forward to watching TTGL and School Rumble. Both are series I've not seen before but wanted to so they're certainly something to look forward to.
Personally I was disappointed Baccano! didn't get voted in. I fully understand Jon's objections listed about and frankly I'd agree they're all legit reasons to be put off, however from the other point of view I think all those elementa are what make it an interesting show and fun to watch. Given the closeness of the vote it seems a lot of people weren't put off by this either as it's not like the first episode is disingenuous in anyway.
Having said all that I'm quite happy to watch Hellsing again. It won fair and aquare and is a series I find fun to watch, not least for the dub, so the short series vote was always going to be win win for me. It leaves with the awesome combo of an action comedey, a romantic comedy and a horror comedy. Should be good year. _________________ A monster can never aim for the ace. Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I loved Baccano!, I just don't think it would be good material for the MUJS screenings.
I'd definitely rather see it marathoned later in the year than put up for a re-vote next semester, I just can't see it doing well at a screening environment at all. _________________ I saw, I conquered, I came. |

I thought you were joking when you said School Rumble and Gurren Lagann won the vote.
Ah, not like I'll see all of it anyway. I'm looking forward to Hellsing though, I would have been happy with Baccno *sp?* as well. |

Haven't been to the voting, however I see the results were quite favorable... I have seen School Rumble already, but I really feel like watching it again, for all of you who have not seen it before and are looking forward to it, believe me it's worth the time, it is a great series with lots of comedy and much more. _________________ Check out my Blog:
