Okay guys, i've provisionally booked us paintball for 32 people on Sat 27th of Feb It's at Yankeewood near Chorley so all we gotta do is jump on a train from Piccadilly to Adlington then grab a taxi to the site. If people want to drive/car share then that's fine too - we need to be at the site for 9:15am prompt (if you want directions to drive I can email you them).

If you want to come i'm going to need £15 by Friday 12th at very latest so I can confirm numbers and pay. This £15 will get you full day entry and first 100 paintballs. We can then pay on the day for bulk boxes of 2000 (£5.99 per 100) between us or just for 100 paintballs @ £6.99.

Lunch will cost £4.99 and is a pizza lunch (pepperoni or margherita). We can let them know on the day when we arrive if you want this. So decide if you want warm food or packed lunch.

You can only attend if you pre-pay the £15 (you can pay me any time, i'd recommend Friday's screening)

Once I know who's coming we can arrange times for getting train etc. most likely to be the 7:54 or 8:22 (depending on how long it takes from station to the site)

How many are going?
I would have been very interested but I can't come to the screening tomorrow, and anyway, although those of you I got to meet were friendly I suppose it is great to paintball with close friends and I think I am still too shy to go with you...

TBH, you generally can't tell who individuals are when you're in-game, due to everyone wearing the same overalls (albeit with markings to denote each team) and face masks, and you're usually on a team with some people you don't know (unless there's enough of you going to make up two full teams), so I wouldn't worry too much about knowing other people...it's a good way to socialise, anyway (there's a reason why it's a popular for corporate team-building).

Right I've booked the taxi's etc by ringing around and getting best quote. And also got train details so you can get your ticket in time (if buying on the day please make sure you get to station early enough to buy it remembering quite a few of you will want to do this)

Ok details are:

Departing Manchester Piccadilly @ 8:15am
Arriving Chorley @ 8:46am

Taxi @ 8:50am to arrive @ Yankeewood ~ 9:05am

You will need to buy a day return to Chorley which will cost you £7.20 without YP rail card, £4.75 with YP railcard.

I will need also from you before we get to Chorley £3.20 each for the taxi (this covers there and back)

Hopefully there will be 25 of us going by train, I know Alistair is arriving with 2 friends from Chorley and meeting us there. The taxi is booked for 25 people and £3.20 is the overall cost split 25 ways.

On our return journey our tickets will cover us for any train so depending if we want to get food or have a drink or go straight back we can decide on the day.

I really can't wait, it's going to be a lot of fun!!

Please wear sensible shoes (ones you don't mind getting muddy) and layers rather than one thick jumper or something.

Remember to bring cash as well to buy paintballs on site (i'll check before we go if we can pay by card when we're there)

Paintball finishes around 4pm, I told taxi to get us about 4:15 pm(to be confirmed). So we can either get train straight back around 5? so get home for half 5ish or something, or we can pub for food/drinks in Chorley before going back.

It may be new for students, but us working stiffs have been aware of the rare "7am on a Saturday morning" for a while.

I think it's called "Antonio's" and is next to the Aleef newsagents on the station approach.

One last thing, there will be lockers available and we can pay by card or cash for paintballs etc. If you want to change clothes it'll have to be in the toilets or whatever as not specific place to change.

Thinking just wear crummy warm clothing, wear overalls over the top. Assuming people don't plan on swimming in a nearby water feature, it should be fine.
